What's In Store...

Once I can get my head out of the clouds I will be posting some fun stuff...

I will post some great pictures from our couples Charleston, SC trip!

I want to do a rewind with some "Old School" stuff-that should be fun!

A dedication to my husband and our 1 Year Wedding Anniversary!

In the meantime, please keep me in your prayers as I'm not feeling too well lately! I would greatly appreciate it!

Blessed Be Your Name!!!

Blessed Be Your Name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name

Blessed Be Your name
When I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed Be Your name

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name

This is one of my MOST favorite christian songs! I didn't put all of the lyrics here for sake of space, but I just wanted to share this song! I thank the Lord for all that I am graciously bestowed in my life...so many big & little things. I'm MOST thankful for Him and what He has done for us! His name should be blessed and praised on the regular, and this is just a reminder to me to turn my blessings back into praise!!!

An Intruder in Our Home???

Just wanted to share our "scary" (ha ha) experience Jero and I had the other night (you'll see why I said "ha ha"). Let me start off by saying that I'm the BIGGEST SCAREDY CAT ALIVE...EVER!!! If Jero ever has to leave for a work trip, I sleep with a light AND TV on and if I hear the slightest noise- I'm up. Also, when I have to get up to use the bathroom during the night (which is about 3-4 times a night!), I keep the door WIDE open and usually wake Jero up...which he proceeds to growl at me for, ALL because I'm afraid of the dark! Are you getting the picture?

Sooo...two nights ago, I'm laying in bed (wide awake with a tummy ache @ 2:30 a.m.) and I CLEARLY hear a door open with a loud creaking noise. Jero was fast asleep and I'm pretty sure he jumped up and out of bed before I did. We BOTH heard it! SURELY someone was in the house, what else could it be? First, our doors don't normally "creak" and doors don't normally open or close on their own!

OK, me being the scaredy cat I am, have already (probably the day we moved in) thought out a plan if we ever did have an intruder. Here it is: I would grab my phone (which lays on my night stand), go into the bathroom, lock the door and wait to hear a "struggle" ensuing, I would then dial 911 and PRAY Jero won and the intruder wasn't on his way for ME!!! (as Jero says, if I was ever abducted they would bring me back RIGHT AWAY) HA HA :)

Back to the story...I followed through with my plan- I grabbed my phone, went in the bathroom and locked the door! Jero, apparently, followed through with his...he grabbed the UNLOADED shot gun in our closet and headed out to confront the "intruder"! (I won't say if we have bullets or not for those that stumble on my blog and want to pull any shenanigans) ;) He stood there for quite a while at the top of our stairs pondering on where to begin his search. (I periodically peered out the bathroom door) I could hear him going through the upstairs and opening closets and the guest bathroom shower curtain. Then, onto the feared downstairs area, where the "intruder" MUST be hiding! Oh and by the way, my "little" tummy ache was turning into a topsy-turvy MESS by this time.

After a few minutes, Jero hollered up an "all clear" type of message. NO INTRUDER!!! WHAT? I need some rational explanation...NOW! We step outside onto the patio where Jero explains that it must have been the chair that was moved by the wind. Um, there was absolutely, positively NO wind to speak of, but this was the explanation I had to live with for the next 4 hours! So, for the next 4 hours I lay WIDE awake not accepting that the "wind" moved a chair and that had to be the noise we heard. I finally dozed off around 6:30 and had to get up at 7:30 for work :( Let's just say it was a miserable day!

So, what was it? I finally found out what it was that had us up prepared to battle and call 911 for back up. After my one hour of sleep that night, I got up to get in the shower and reached for my towel behind my bathroom door. The hook that held my towel and bathrobe had detached itself from the door and caused the items to fall to the floor and close the door, making the slow creaking noise we heard!!! It was that simple!

Did I over react to the situation? Did I freak out for nothing? Would you be just as scared? What happened in my childhood for me to be such a freak about stuff like this? I know one thing, I watch TOO many forensic and cold case stuff, maybe that's it! But, I look back now and have to laugh with the images of Jero with his shotgun in hand....stay tuned, I will get a real picture of this, maybe even in his boxers just for effect!!!

Selling the ol' "Crib"...

So, we have sorta outgrown our first little home. Although it has some good "first year" marriage memories, we're so ready to build! We have sorted through so many floor plans and been here and there with builders...now we just have to SELL our current home. Prayers please, because in this economy and the mortgage crisis going on, I have some fears!

Doesn't this eat in kitchen & patio appeal to YOU? We're trying not to list it with an agent and save a few grand ($9,000 to be exact, can you believe that???) so we're doing "For Sale By Owner"...we'll see how that works! We'll keep you posted, and in the meantime, if you know anyone interested...send 'em our way :)

7 Years Later

I just wanted to take the time to remember those that were lost on this day, 7 years ago. I know I still can't wrap my mind around the tragedy that occurred that day. We must never forget this day in history, we should always memorialize it. I do every year with my thoughts and prayers going out to the families that lost their loved ones.

I can remember what I was doing the exact moment I found out...as I'm sure most of us do. I was driving my, then, two year old niece to preschool. I was listening on the radio to every detail, and when I reached her school, noone knew yet. I informed them and they immediately ran to TV's throughout the building. I went off to work, once I got there it was as if the world had just stopped. My co-worker and I just watched in utter shock with tears welling up in our eyes! It was all such a sad and horrific scene.

America will certainly never forget this, and we are in the midst of a war in an effort to never let this happen again! So, as I remember this day, I also want to make a stand in this presidential debate that has everything to do with the war. I'm NOT good with political commentary, but my concern is this: Do we really want to pull our troops out and risk another 9/11? I have the upmost respect for our troops, and it is honorable the way they risk their lives every day for our safety!!! God Bless our Troops!

Good Times, Good Friends...

Last weekend was one full of baseball and good times with a couple friends of ours. Jeromy and Kris were in a baseball tournament in Raleigh. They made it to the championship game and lost. That's OK though, we enjoyed our getaway! Leya and I managed to escape to the mall for some girl time. The four of us are going to Clearwater, FL in November for a week for another tournament...we're just a little excited!

How cute are those boys? It was sooo very HOT that weekend *major understatement*! That cooler saved our lives...Leya and I practically took a bath in it throughout the weekend!

And to top the weekend off, I got hit with a foul ball at a pretty hefty speed...OUCH! It came from a field behind us and got me in my back, knocked my breath out for a few seconds. I survived, but tried to MILK it...that didn't work :(

I LOVE THIS MAN SOOO MUCH...

This I Pray...

What do ya' know...I've already got something to blog about :)

I'm in the midst of reading Rick Warren's "Purpose Driven Life" (fantastic book by the way), and he touched on something that makes so much sense to me. I have so much that weighs on my heart to lift up to the Lord! BUT, by the time my bootie hits the sack, I get about two of those very important prayers out...and then, I'm OUT! Well, then comes the morning time and I'm movin' and groovin'... get ready for work, go to work and before you know it I'm back in bed trying to get even more prayers out...and then...you guessed it, I'm OUT! Sooo...Rick quotes from another author saying "I do not advise you to use a great multiplicity of words in prayer, since long discourses are often occasions for wondering". Wondering, in my case, means falling fast asleep ;)

What I have gained from this is to pray without ceasing ALL DAY. Not a problem! Keep it precise, but can also be short and sweet! He calls them "breath prayers"...in one breath use a simple phrase: "You are with me", "I belong to you", "Please watch over my sister", "You are my God"...making sure that you are HONORING Him as well, not just using these to control Him.

Ok, so this isn't anything new (I know), but I never put it into perspective like this before. Thank you, Lord, for your guidance in this!

Guess I'll give it a shot...

I guess you could say I've visited a blog page or two in my life. I love reading them! Some truly inspire me...you know, like a powerful message in church or a provoking song. Not sure mine will inspire anyone, but I'm looking at it like an easy/cheap way of scrapbooking! Capturing memories, pictures, thoughts.

Jeromy laughs at the idea of creating a blog...what in the world will I blog about? Hmmm, good question. I'll have to reach real deep in my not-so-creative mind of mine and find out...
